The Rum Runner is a staple in the community. You’d be hard-pressed to find a local who hasn’t eaten here, or been back for a second round. They’re known for consistently good service, and great comfort food. The Rum Runner boasts a uniquely funky atmosphere that adds an extra layer of character to your dining experience.
3. Limber Pine Steakhouse – for juicy smoked meats
This is the spot to go if you’re craving juicy smoked brisket, or any other smoked meats. That said, we also always enjoy their tacos, and their margaritas will have you ordering another. Our pick? Go for the brisket tacos and a side of cornbread.
4. The Pass Beer Company – for pizza and beer
Pizza and beer go together like mountains and hiking boots – everyone knows that. And everyone also knows that The Pass Beer Company is a great place for this iconic duo.
This local brewery serves craft beers paired with soul-warming wood-fired pizzas. You can also get locally-brewed kombucha here from Steep Peak Kombucha, offering a refreshing alternative for non-beer drinkers. The atmosphere is welcoming and family-friendly. You’ll often find live music performances and patio games to play.

5. Crowsnest Pass Golf Course – for the patio views
Great food? Check. Spectacular views? Check! The Crowsnest Pass Golf Course has some of the best patio views in town. They often have buffet-style meals and with its spacious layout, it makes for an excellent setting for large groups and functions.

6. Soo Blairmore – for Asian flare
With its extensive menu of Asian fare in the heart of Blairmore, Soo Blairmore is the spot to go for sushi and inventive rice bowls. Their menu items make great options for take-out, and their excellent service adds to the experience.
7. Spice Lounge and Pizza – for Indian fusion
Spice Lounge and Pizza offers a fusion of flavours, where traditional Indian cuisine meets wood-fired pizzas. You can get India-inspired specialties like tandoori chicken pizza and the classic butter chicken. They also have an extensive vegetarian menu.
8. Pure Country Bar and Grill – for Wing Wednesdays
Pure Country is hands-down known for its Wing Wednesdays, and they arguably have some of the best chicken wing flavours. Besides the wings, they also have great pizza. The tavern-style bar has an old Western look, with wood walls and antique décor, creating a warm, rustic ambiance.

Crowsnest Pass Pizza is found in the Kanata Hotel and have boast-worthy gluten-free pizza. They do have regular pizza too for those that like a full-gluten menu. Do you like designing your own pizza with your own toppings? We do too and this is what makes Crowsnest Pass Pizza worth a try. Their hours of operation make them a great spot to go after your adventure.
10. 5 Rivers Pizza – for delicious pizza with unique combos
The pizza combinations at 5 Rivers Pizza will keep you coming back to try a new one. You may even find that you try things you wouldn’t expect and find a new favourite, like the chicken, bacon and ranch pizza – a community favourite! They also have gluten-free options. Located in the mall near IGA.
11. The Cadillac Kitchen – for food-truck style poutine
The Cadillac Kitchen – Top Shelf Catering is planning to have a permanent location year-round starting November 2023. Their best seller are poutines and offer a variety of toppings, but they offer much more! Located in downtown Bellevue for your dinner time cravings.
Lunch and breakfast spots in Crowsnest Pass
1. Crowsnest Café and Fly Shop – for healthy bites and fly fishing expertise
This is a highly unique café and one of our favourites in town – half of it is a bright café serving drinks and healthy snacks and small meals, while the other is a fisherman’s dream, selling outdoor/fishing clothing and equipment, including a wide, colourful selection of fly fishing lures. They offer fresh organic and vegetarian specialties, and everything is made from scratch.
“Our homemade salsa and pesto are huge hits, our soups are very popular, and our simple selection of baked goods, especially the lemon zest date squares and gluten-free brownies, are a hit,” Susan tells us. “We have a unique combination of flavours for finicky palates, both human and trout.”
They have a loyal local following, a great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

2. Chris’ Restaurant – for impeccable service and an old-style diner vibe
The service and interior of this old-style diner are consistently impeccable. Serving hearty home-style meals, Chris’ is known for its feel-good food and value – they have bottomless coffee! What more needs to be said?
3. Cherry on Top Bakery and Koffie Shop – for crepes and kombucha
Cherry on Top has a variety of delicious baked good, but the standout for us are the crepes (they even have a gluten-wise option). This coffee shop and bakery has a great atmosphere, and you can also purchase locally-brewed Steep Peak Kombucha.
4. Cinnamon Bear Bakery & Café – for iconic cinnamon buns
If you need to carb up, Cinnamon Bear is the place to go, serving loaded sandwiches and renowned cinnamon buns. Their cinnamon buns are what they’re known for, but they also have a wide variety of delicious freshly baked goods.
5. Stone’s Throw Café – for local art and patio coffee
What’s unique about Stone’s Throw is the local art on the walls – it’s great to sip on some morning coffee and check out some of the paintings. They also have a nice outdoor patio, perfect for admiring the nearby Turtle Mountain.
