What to Expect: You will begin your experience by meeting your guide at the trailhead near Crowsnest Pass. Directions to the trailhead will be sent out via email ahead of time. Once the paperwork and equipment are handed out, you will do a quick ice breaker (get it?). Now, it is time to explore and discover the wonders of ice. The ice walk is a gentle walk with some short steeper sections. You will make several stops along the way to discover the winter wonderland. The best parts of your experience will be walking through a beautiful canyon, listening to the water running below your feet, seeing ice features along the canyon, and enjoying the experiments and learning along the way. Once you are at the frozen waterfall, you will have time to take pictures, do some activities, and enjoy some yummy hot chocolate. You will then return to the trailhead and if there is time, you will try your hand at another science experiment.
This experience is appropriate for children between the ages of 8 and 90! It is a great family activity or event to celebrate a special occasion with family and friends.
