Overview

What’s a boulder? It's a large rock that can be as big as a house. This journey leads deep into the alpine, to a secluded lake cradled along the Continental Divide. Here, enormous boulders rest in and around crystalline waters, framed by a sweeping mountain panorama that feels untouched and far from the ordinary. It’s the kind of place that rewards every step with stillness, scale, and awe.

Reaching this hidden gem is part of the adventure. You’ll ford lively creeks, climb and descend rolling alpine terrain, and breathe in the sharp, clean air of a remote mountain range that few ever experience this intimately. Every rise reveals another view; every dip draws you deeper into the wild.

This backpacking trip is crafted for intermediate to advanced adventurers who are ready for a challenge. It’s not recommended for beginners, but if the full distance feels ambitious, we’re happy to tailor a more accessible route for private bookings without sacrificing the magic of the destination.

Highlights:

⭐ Remote alpine lake with stunning views
⭐ Single-track hiking trails away from the crowds
⭐ Expert knowledge from our locals guides
⭐ River crossings
⭐ True backcountry experience
