Explore this National Historical Site and the stories that make it come to life!
Our expert guides share with you the history and remnants along the path, and you will discover real stories of those who sacrificed lives, were determined to create a prosperous living, or supported the underground miners. Not only do you get to learn about this hidden gem, but you can also add-on a delicious brunch in one of Coleman's beautiful historical buildings or explore the Crowsnest Museum.
Your tour starts at the Crowsnest Museum, historically the Coleman High School. Here, you will meet your expert guide. You will be assigned a task to complete before we head out on the trail, just like the miners did when they went to work. Your walking tour will include some information about downtown Coleman, several real stories from McGillivray Mines, and viewing of remnants along the Miner’s Path and McGillivray Mines.
Your walking tour leaves directly from the Crowsnest Museum, and we will make several stops along the way to uncover stories and remnants of the past. Near the half-way point, we will stop for a refreshing beverage and locally-made snack; all while listening to the stories of the past. Once our break is over, we will visit the main site of the McGillivray underground mine and search for clues to help retell the harrowing tales.
We will finish our tour by being welcomed back to the Crowsnest Museum.

"We visited the city of Coleman in their company and then we discovered the circuit of the mines. They explain it really well and do it with a lot of heart.
At nightfall, we went on a snowshoe hike with the headlamp to observe the stars.
It is exceptional, they told us very beautiful stories.
It was a magical moment!"
